Sutton Hoo
£750.00
My artistic take of the Sutton Hoo Saxon helmet. The bridge of the nose, up to the forehead and brow is said to represent a dragon on the actual piece of head wear, this was the inspiration for this painting, to draw out the dragon style and make it more refined. The painting is also a metaphor for history being partially hidden or ignored, with the light and shadow revealing and hiding the two halves of the helmet.
